Biological, Medical, and Agricultural Applications of Plasmas I

This study aims to optimize microbubble generation using water pump and combine it with plasma-generated reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) to produce RONS microbubble water, verifying the feasibility of RONS entering biological organisms through water. In current applications, some of the gases in RONS can be used to treat lung-related diseases. However, these medical devices are costly, less portable, and mostly rely on gas cylinders to store these gases, posing risks of gas leakage. This study utilizes high-speed cameras combined with dynamic image analysis methods to measure the size and concentration of microbubbles generated by the microbubble device. Gas analyzers measure the concentration of RONS generated by the plasma generator. Based on this data, optimal designs for the microbubble generation device (including Venturi tube angles, single or double-layer mesh) and optimal parameters for RONS generation are determined. RONS generated is then passed into the microbubble device to produce RONS microbubble water, verifying its feasibility for entering the biological body. This real-time RONS generation method is not only cost-effective and highly portable but also addresses the issue of gas leakage from gas cylinder storage, provides a new option for the application of RONS.
