We present progress towards realizing dual species tweezer arrays of rubidium and caesium atoms in a cryogenic apparatus for enhanced trap lifetimes. The separation of the fluorescence wavelengths of Rb and Cs natively allows for independent readout of each species without crosstalk, making this a promising platform for the implementation of quantum error correction codes.

We have identified optimal interspecies Förster resonances between Rydberg d-state orbitals which give rise to enhanced interactions between species while intraspecies couplings are strongly suppressed [1]. This reduces leakage error for multi-qubit entanglement operations mediated by these Rydberg states by comparison with similar schemes for s-states.

We will use our cryogenic experimental platform to investigate these interactions, realise interspecies quantum logic gates, and ultimately aim to implementquantum error correction.
