A photoionization time delay studies on atomic xenon is of significance owing to the range of correlation effects exhibited [1-4]. Most recently, studies of photoionization time delay of Xe 4d in the near threshold region have been examined experimentally [5]. In the present work Relativistic Random-Phase Approximation with Relaxation (RRPA-R) [6] has been used to study the time delay in photoionization of 4d subshell of atomic xenon. Comparison of present results with available theoretical [4] and experimental [5] results reveals the importance of core relaxation on the time delay in the photoionization of 4d subshell of Xe.
